ORION WARRANTY

1. PURCHASER'S STATUTORY RIGHTS
The rights (including implied rights) and remedies, which the owner has under the Trader Practices Act and other State consumer laws, are additional to the benefits conferred by this Orion Warranty.

2. ORION WARRANTY:
Except for the exclusions below, Orion warrants that it will repair or, at its option, replace Orion products as specified below where such Orion product is defective by reason of faulty workmanship or materials, free of charge for parts and labour as follows:

a) Television Receivers. Warranty for 2 years from the date of purchase on parts and labour with an additional 1 year on picture tube only. Rear Projection Television Receivers. Warranty for 2 years from the date of purchase on parts and labour. Fluorescent burns caused by prolonged display of still images are not covered by this warranty.

b) Liquid Crystal Display Television Receivers and Liquid Crystal Display Rear Projection Television Receivers, Plasma Display Panels: Warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase on parts and labour.

c) Video Cassette Recorders ("VCR") and Players ("VCP"): Warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase.

d) Video Compact Disc Players, Digital Versatile Disc Players: and Digital Versatile Disc/Video Cassette Recorder Warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase.

e) Remote control hand pieces for all Television Receivers, Rear Projection Television Receivers Video Recorders and Players, Video Compact Disc Players and Digital Versatile Disc Players for 1 year from date of purchase.

f) In respect of all combination units such as Televideos (i.e. Television Receiver and Video Recorder or Player or DVD recorder or player housed in a single cabinet) the warranty is the same as that applicable to TVs, VCRs and VCPs set out in Condition 2(a) and 2(c) above.

g) All Orion Colour Television Receivers, Rear Projection Television Receivers, VCRs, VCPs, Digital Versatile Disc Players, Video Compact Disc Players and Digital Versatile Disc/Video Cassette Recorder and Televideos intended for or employed in commercial use of any nature (including without limitation, Industrial, Rental Services, Educational, Business and like use) carry a 1 year warranty for parts and labour from the date of purchase. Digital Voice Recorders, Cameras and Camcorders carry a 3 month commercial warranty for parts and labour from the date of purchase.

h) Warranty applicable only for goods distributed by Castel Electronics and purchased from an authorised Orion dealer.

i) Time Lapse Video Cassette Recorders carry a 1 year warranty for parts and labour from date of purchase.

j) Digital Cameras and Video Cameras and equipment carry a 1 year warranty for parts and labour from the date of purchase.

3. CONDITIONS: This Orion Warranty:

a) only applies:

i) in respect of Orion products described herein which are purchased in Australia from an authorised Orion dealer;

ii) if the said Orion products have been installed and used in accordance with the instructions displayed on the unit or in the relevant instruction manual; and

iii) proof of purchase in the form of a receipt from an authorised Orion dealer is presented when requesting Orion Warranty Service; and

b) is void in the event of any service undertaken by an unauthorised service centre or any tampering of any nature in respect of the said Orion products by unauthorised persons.

4. SERVICE:

a) Contact your local dealer for authorised service centres.

b) Free home service calls will be made for the following products: Television Receivers having a picture tube 53cm or larger, Rear Projection Television Receivers, Liquid Crystal Display Rear Projection Television Receivers and Plasma Display Panels.

c) Free home service calls will only be made where the owner lives within 15 kilometres of an authorised Orion service centre. A travel fee will be charged on service calls outside that area or the owner must send the product, at the owners expense and risk, to and from the authorised Orion service centre.

5. PURCHASE REGISTRATION: Owners of Orion products should return the Warranty Registration Form to Castel, and any change of address or ownership must be notified to Castel Electronics Pty Ltd at the specified address.

6. No servant or authorized service centre of Orion has authority to add to or alter the terms of this Orion Warranty.

7. EXCLUSIONS: This Orion Warranty excludes:

a) Subject to the purchaser's rights referred to herein, Orion hereby excludes and disclaims to the maximum extent permitted by law any and all other liability in respect of the product;

b) This Orion Warranty does not apply to:

i) Antennae, earphone, batteries and other accessories, power plugs, leads, glass or plastic accessories, appearance items and cabinetry;

ii) Audio/video head cleaning;

iii) Damage caused by accident, misuse or negligence, including by leaking batteries;

vi) Products repaired or tampered with by anyone other than Orion or its authorised service centre;

v) Calls to attend or requests for service in respect of any adjustment which could have been performed by the owner or arising from inadequate antenna, antenna faults, external power supply or other faults in any ancillary or other equipment or external interferences of any nature whatsoever;

vi) Products where the serial number is removed or defaced;

vii) Insurance of any product in transit or when in the possession of Orion or any other party; and

viii) Any circumstances which constitute an "Act of God" (for eg., earthquakes, typhoons, flash floods, etc.) or which normally be covered by normal household insurance.

c) In the event that the owner is not in attendance at the address notified to Orion or its authorised service centre during normal business hours and an appointment has been made with the owner for provision of service, additional charges may be made at the prevailing rates for each service call made or attempted.

d) These Warranty conditions are subjected to change without notification.
